More than just a sexy brand, BOSSA was created to capture its Brazilian founders' love of Bossa Nova music and their memories of growing up on Rio’s Ipanema Beach. BOSSA is the very spirit of Rio distilled down to the essence of all that is universal in its appeal.
BOSSA’s logo and package design are inspired by the pattern of the sidewalk of Ipanema Beach, the cradle of Bossa Nova music. The design style is “retro”, reflecting its urban origin and the era of Bossa Nova’s birth in the late 1950s.
In Rio, the word “bossa” means “cool style” and it first came on to the world scene with the emergence of Bossa Nova music. More recently, the locals have come to use the term as an expression for something that is innately “cool”.
BOSSA remains strongly connected to its local Carioca roots, while exuding a unique global appeal.
